The world today faces many cultural and ethical issues that some believe are only relevant in today’s day and age. The Bible bluntly states that homosexuality is a sin. However, would it still be considered homosexuality if there were a gender change surgery before going through with the immoral act? There are many scripture verses in the Old Testament that evidence the demoralization of a sex change both then and there and here and now. The bible goes into depth explaining that God painstakingly made man and woman deliberately as they are. â€Å"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.†(Genesis) Gender identity confusion is not a sexual problem but an emotional one. â€Å"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.† (2 Timothy 1:7) A person’s gender is predestined along with all other facets of their life. (Henry) God would not create a person with the genitalia of a female and the heart and consciousness of a male. (Bohlin) â€Å"For God is not a God of confusion but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints,† (1 Corinthians 14:33) Gender identity comprehension occurs early on in childhood development. It begins at birth and messages of assertion and authentication of one’s personhood can be distorted from many factors such as parents and family, society and even media.
